Unravel specializes in the creation of ProRes masters that can be built to suit specific distribution requirements. Multichannel Audio
Common practice in film distribution is to have a multichannel audio layout in a single ProRes file that bundles together multiple audio mixes (such as Stereo, 5.1 and M&E mixes). Unravel can build these layouts as required to match distribution specifications and/or re-order existing ProRes masters to match alternate specifications.
Versioning (with no generational loss)
Localization work often requires changes to idents at the top and tail of a film. Unravel ensures that any picture elements which remain the same between versions are not recompressed but are rewrapped into the new master to avoid any reduction in picture quality.
HDR Masters + Color Space Conversions
While Unravel doesn't perform HDR color grading in house, we do offer the generation of HDR ProRes Masters from HDR material supplied by external post houses. We can also perform HDR>SDR conversions in addition to conversions between a myriad of color spaces and transfer functions (ie P3 2.6 Gamma > Rec.709 2.4 Gamma)

Framerate Conversion
Unravel can perform framerate conversion where required to match distribution specifications where they differ from a native framerate. The complexity of framerate conversion varies significantly depending on the requirements of a production and varies in cost as a result.
Audio Adjustments
Upmixing and downmixing of audio mixes can be handled in house in addition to any work requiring normalization of loudness levels to match specifications.
